Dental implants are an excellent option for replacing one or more missing teeth. They are designed to look and feel like your natural teeth, matching the shape and colour of the surrounding teeth to blend in seamlessly. Previously missing teeth could only be replaced in one of two ways: with dentures, which require removal at night time and extra cleaning, and with a “bridge”, which involves cutting into adjacent teeth and placement of several crowns joined together. Implants are a fixed, permanent solution to missing teeth, which don’t involve any cutting of adjacent teeth. In this sense, they are the most conservative and natural-feeling option.
At Vale Dental, we use an impression and CBCT radiograph to assess the thickness of bone in the area of the missing tooth, to ensure the implant will successfully integrate and last long-term. We work with an Australian surgical company to design and create a computer-assisted, 3D-printed “surgical stent”, allowing us to accurately place each implant using keyhole surgery into the strongest and thickest area of bone. We use only the most advanced TGA-approved materials to place the implant and corresponding tooth on top, to ensure a long-lasting result.
